Sneak Peek of What Is Coming in February + Tile Patterns with New Collection

Happy New Year Everyone!

I hope everyone’s 2021 is going well! I keep writing 2020 and forgot to archive our 2020 projects… you know, the usual January stuff.

PREVIEW EVENT FOR 2021 SPRING SUMMER FEATURED COLLECTIONS

We’re a little less than a month away from the launch of our 2020 2021 Spring Summer Featured Collections. This year we are doing things a bit differently since we are still virtual for the most part. We will have a virtual preview event on National Tile Day, February 23^rd, presented by moi.

I will present the current trends we are seeing in tile, which trends will be reflected in our featured collection palette, a brief overview of our new collections, and I’ll dive a little deeper into a couple of “Erin’s Picks” that have some cool patterns and unique design elements. (And, you didn’t hear this from me, but I heard there will be some prizes given away, so you don’t want to miss this!) Invites will be coming your way soon.

I’m excited to show you these collections! I hope these get the design juices flowing and provide you with some great inspiration for future projects.

SNEAK PEEK – PROFOUND COLLECTION – I want to take a moment to look at one of my favorite pattern layouts from a new collection you will see launched during the presentation on February 23^rd. The collection name is Profound, and just an FYI, samples will not be available until after 2/23! But, I wanted to provide a special sneak peek for my Erin’s Picks readers.

I’m a little obsessed with this pattern layout. It’s probably the tile geek in me, but I love it! It reminds me of an hourglass. You could actually get real literal with this design and use contrasting tiles to look like sand… “like sands through the hourglass, so are the days of our lives’. (HAHA, I use to watch that soap with my Grandmother.)

I like the use of the matte and glossy finishes within the triangular sections of this design. I’m a big fan of dual finishes – I like having the ability to create subtle designs and contrasts with wall tiles.

I’m excited to explore more pattern ideas with this collection. Below I’ve created some pattern ideas that came to my mind. We’ve been seeing quite a few gradients lately, and the gradients can be tricky if you don’t have enough colors in your design. Having the dual finishes that Profound offers helps build out the amount of ‘colors’ you have because the matte or glossy sheen plays with the appearance and color of the tile.
